So Google's got a new gaming system. All focused on cloud-based stream of games. So far no first party games shown (just announced). Imagine streaming 4K / 60 FPS and what it will do to some people's data plans. Also why is the control stick not on the left dammit

sounds great. to get the most out of things you'll have to pay for several thousand costing 4k TV, some of them suck and some of them don't, then you need to budget your internet connection to be several hundreds / month as well and googles already rubbing their hands together at the thought of this.
and not a single fucking game even. what a great presentation.
and yea this is probably going to be something like ps4/switch pro controller combined. the left stick thing you talk about is the xbox controller layout.

if you know what is PS Now like with 5mbps connection, also sonys recommendation for minimum speed, you're gonna see that it just doesn't work unless you have very fast internets.
first get the internet speeds up and prices down, then we'll talk. if not, keep your fucking cloud streaming console shit.

i've tried ps now and it is sorta how i expected it to be.
your screen has these constant tiny artifacts on it, namely around text where it's most visible that the thing is not running natively or rendered by the system in question. I'd compare it to direct feed image and a compressed recording, which it feels like it's the latter. you also have slight input delay with your actions so games that require precise and quick inputs may be troubling. as far as I got it, multiplayer does not even work on streamed games.
I suppose that 15 euro price tag is just for 1P sony titles you can download to play with full resolution and performance, and the streamed games is an after-thought just to make it more appealing somehow. either way, I wasn't too impressed.

well it's equivalent of online movie or series streaming services pretty much. can't figure out or decide what to play? easy, just pay an access to games you can stream on console for a monthly fee and choose your high budget or indie title to play next. no worries about spending money on something that you're not sure you even like. I guess it also is somewhat decent way to make the customer consider twice about the game they thought they didn't like but for that sub fee it suddenly removes that obstacle.
so I guess anyone really, but probably heavier emphasis on the less focused players or casuals so to say.
