i've had game pass a couple of times. just never stuck to being subbed to it in the end. most recent purchase I did was to play gears 5 for cheaper than buying the full game. I also had a 3 month prepaid time as I purchased One X back in december 2018.
still haven't changed my mind about it. just not used to it I suppose, or not liking the idea of not really owning the games and playing those are tied to a subscription.
Stadia is great time if you have good internet for it, and the fact that you can either play it on TV with chromecast ultra and controller or on PC via chrome browser with mouse and keyboard. nothing is installed on either device, and all is done through cloud. it seriously cuts down any waiting time you'd have on other devices downloading and installing and updating the games. simplicity itself really, but with my own personal downsides to it. it's all cloud based, and any games you buy you again don't really own. one full sweep of taking systems offline and all your time and money is down the cyber toilet. never to be seen again.
but there is also the fact that this goes for most other modern day digital platforms. many of their terms and policies say that you are merely granted a license to play the games. and if an event happens that your access to the licenses are revoked, it's the customers fault.
the way to the future and growing pains with it? perhaps.

You can have Gamepass and use it as a way to test, or rent games. Then if you like it you can buy full game. For the other games you don't plan on buying, you can at least experience it for a few months.
Also with Stadia, you buy the subscription and then have to pay full price for games afterward to stream them. At least with xbox you don't pay full price for each game on top of sub price.

microsofts wanting to increase game pass subs by a large margin since they announced in july during the games showcase that all their 1st party games will be on game pass day one. I'm sure that beats paying the already talked about increase in game prices next gen and forward.
I forgot about the stadia sub. yeah it has some perks like 4k streaming and then getting games you can redeem for free. what I did not notice that it is so messed up having a required sub on top of paying full price for the games? I think if it's that bad, it's clear what is going to succeed. it seems so bizarre to me it's designed that way.
