Looks cool. Crash 4 seems dope. Also I think the fact there's a non-physical version means this will probably the last generation offering disc drives.
Sucks you can't use ps4 controller

taking interest in PS5 eh? don't blame you, PS4 is/was extremely strong this generation and hopefully it will pave the way for PS5 with same success. PS5 sticking to easy to understand naming conventions as well, more easier than Series X and then rumors of a "Series S", having 2 differently named systems with 2 different hardwares. though PS5 also comes in 2 forms, a digital only with no physical disc drive built-in and one with a disc drive. what is the difference is that both PS5s still have identical hardware inside, no having cheap with inferior hardware/expensive with better hardware thing going on like Xbox presumably will be having.
sony is taking some risks, but I find it commendable still that they do this despite the fact that a lot of PS4 games already are sold mostly digitally. but I have a feeling they might discontinue the disc drive PS5 eventually and digital only will be the only one sold on the market one day.
no using PS4 controller yeah. shame about that. I do think the PS5 controller might pack enough interesting hardware in it that one might just forget about the ps4 controller after some time with PS5.
no pricing available yet. another bit that remains to be seen whether they will charge more for the disc drive PS5 than the digital only. speculations talk about the disc drive PS5 going up to 100 more than the digital only. digital only in the range of 399 and disc drive around 499. but again that is just speculation and nothing about it is necessarily true.

i don't actively hunt one, so my time to get one probably will be around when those are in abundance at retail. that should be a good enough sign that they've caught up with demand. but I don't see that happening until maybe late 2022 or early 2023. thing is, they already warned that things will continue as such into 2022, so who knows how long it will take in the end.
got a series s in the meantime. slick little thing and it does contain less of the same hardware as series X. next-gen games come with some compromises sure, but essentially all the optimized games for X/S make use of the new architecture and SSD speeds. but for the future-proofing i'll likely get a ps5 to go along with it.

been itching for the new ratchet & clank game, since they never released the ps3 collection on ps4. death stranding director's cut would be grand as well. ghost of tsushima director's cut falls in same category for me, and for racing games as i've not played them in recent memory i would like gran turismo 7. gran turismo 7 is more of a simulation than arcade.

nope haven't used xbox since august. managed to get a ps5 so i've done most of the games stuff on it after that. i can find series x more easily than ps5s still even after ps5s price increase. partially that is because microsoft also has their own direct sale to consumers physical store and online and obviously they keep their own shelves stocked. all MSRP tagged, so retail isn't the only way thankfully. retail with ps5s i noticed they really wanted to sell bundles that easily increased the price by a couple hundreds at least. time will tell if microsoft will crack under pressure to increase the xbox prices as well.
settled with the disc drive ps5 due to there being quite a bit of competition. more or less already thought that im fine with digital only but all the units were reserved over and over so had to act fast and choose the disc drive ps5 which went through no problems. no regrets at all. the reworked playstation plus is also great and has gotten better and better since they launched it. overall the system is very snappy and the games look great. one of the big issues with ps4 i had was that it got very, very loud under GFX intensive games. RE2 remake for example. the PS5 is very quiet and only makes this gentle whirring sound under every game i've thrown at it. RE2 and 3 remakes, battlefield 2042 with 128 players and god of war reboot with enhanced mode on, which means increased frame rate and supersampled image, and it just makes the same gentle noise. have played quite a bit into death stranding director's cut and it's just a damn smooth experience. ghost of tsushima i'm yet to start properly.
